Obituaries: Service slated for WW II hero

A memorial service will be held for Sgt. Charles Robert "Bob" Marshall, husband of Dixie Hyden and father of Floyd County Judge-Executive R.D. "Doc" Marshall, at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at Hall Funeral Home. He will be buried with full military rites at 11 a.m. on June 8 at Davidson Memorial Gardens in Ivel. His remains were discovered four years ago in Germany and returned to the family recently.

Denny Ray Martin,

Roma Aileen Tuttle, 89, of Eastern, died May 27. Jesse James Hale, 75, of Michigan, formerly of Gunlock, died May 31. He was stationed at U.S. Air Force bases in Texas, Indiana and Illinois while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Thomas E. Horn, 61, of Prestonsburg, died May 27. He was a veteran. Survivors: four siblings. He was cremated under the direction of Nelson Frazier Funeral Home and his ashes were buried at Veterans Cemetery, Bath, N.Y.
