Theodore Thelmer (T. T.) Colley died April 15 at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on August 21, 1926, in Esco to the late Elizabeth Branham Colley Baker and the late Theodore Thelmer Colley.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children Helen B. Colley.

He is survived by two loving children, Teddy Colley and Cam Colley (Roger Dale Caudill), both of Pikeville; four grandchildren: Rachel (Matt) Dotson of Pikeville, Colley Stevens from Orlando, Fla., Elizabeth Stevens from Washington, D.C., and Mitchell Colley from Lexington; and one great-grandson, Huxley Scott Dotson from Pikeville.

T. T. was in the Navy from 1944-45. He graduated from Transylvania Class of 1955 with a degree in Business Administration. He taught school at Virgie High School in 1955 and Pikeville High School in 1956.

T. T. was the owner and operator of Colley Block Company for 35 years. He owned and operated several coal companies. He was a member of the Kentucky Legislature from 1959 - 1963. He served as Pike County Property Valuation Administrator for 16 years.

He served on the Board of Pike County Housing Authority for seven years, Breaks Interstate Park for six years, Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tenn., for four years and Pikeville Medical Center from Dec. 4, 1990 until his death. He was an active member of the Democratic Party, and a member of the Pikeville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 17, at J.W. Call Funeral Home. Interment followed in York Mausoleum, Johnson Memorial Park.
