She is remembered as a woman of style and grace, with a spark that endeared her to family and friends. She was known for her kind spirit, generous heart and support of many non-profits.
Janice was born to Naoma and Charles Mullins on Sept. 18, 1933, in Pikeville. She lived most of her life in Winter Park, but referred to herself as a "hillbilly" and carried her hometown in her heart.
Janice graduated from the Norton School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1955. She was a wife and mother first, but loved nursing and enjoyed a career that began as a hospital RN and ended as a manager for Central Park Lodge.
She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Vaughan III and her daughter, Julianne Thompson. She is survived by her children: Lee Ann (Tom) Carr, Peggy Jean (David) Sims and Clinton C. Thompson IV and four grandchildren.
Family and friends celebrated her life at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Winter Park on Sept. 2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Orlando Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were under direction of Baldwin Brothers Funeral Planning & Cremation Services, Winter Park.
